A fusiform root is a root that tapers at the top and at the bottom,

For example the taproot of a white radish.

The root is swollen in the middle and narrow towards both it's base. When the root is swollen in middle and gradually tapering toward the apex , it's called fusiform root.

Fusiform means having a spindle-like shape root that is wide in the middle and tapers at both ends. It is similar to the lemon-shape, but often implies a focal broadening of a structure that continues from one or both ends, such as an aneurysm on a blood vessel.

E. g :- Radish (Raphanus sativus)
