Explanation:

The judicial powers and functions of the president are :

He appoints chief Justice and the judges of Supreme Court and high courts. He can seek advice from the supreme court on any question of law or fact . However ,the advice tendered by the Supreme Court is not binding on the President.

Judicial power (president of India)

to modify punishment:-

President of India can grant pardon, reprives or remission of punishment order by the court mainly in three cases:-

  1. In case of death sentence.
  2. If the punishment is given by the court Martial .
  3. In the case when the punishment is against any law related to union list.
