Switch - A switch is a multi port bridge . It filters data on the destination address and can handle heavy traffic through its multiple ports . In addition ,switches can check for errors before forwarding the data .
Modem - A devices ( modulator - demodulator ) is used to connect home computers to the service providers network for accessing the Internet . It modulates the digital signals from the computer into electrical signals back to the digital signals at the receiver's end .
Hub - A hub is a physical layer networking device which is used to connect multiple devices in a network . They are generally used to connect computer in a LAN. A hub has many ports in it . A computer which intends to be connectedto the network is plugged in to one of these ports .
