Cooperatives have proved to be successful in providing food and averting the widespread hunger in the regions where the Govt. wasn't successful.

Some Cases of Such cooperatives in different parts of India are:

1.) In Tamil Nadu almost 94% of the fair price ration shops are being run by cooperatives. Cooperatives have insured food security in these areas.

2.) Mother Diary has been providing basic commodities such as milk,vegetables, fruits etc. in Delhi . This has helped people as it provides all these things at rates decided by the Government.

3.) Amul is another success story of cooperatives in Gujarat. It has led to White Revolution in India and has made India self-sufficient in milk.

4.) In Maharashtra ADS(Academy of Development and Science) has also been setting up grain banks in the city.It organises capacity building programmes on Food Security for NGO's .It has been acknowledged as a succesful and innovative food security intervention.
