Model forts are made in traditional Diwali celebrations in Maharashtra. Clay images of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his soldiers, people and animals are placed on these model forts. Toys are used in other festivals like Makar Sankranti, Durga puja, Gangaur, etc. to perform religious ceremonies.
