this  email is to share with you a recent experience of superstitious belief which I came across. Recently I had the pleasure of attending a football tournament in our city. While attending the first match of my home team, I observed  a player of my team touch the ground with both hands and stamp his feet twice before the match. he repeated it for all the subsequent matches. On asking a stadium staff I came to know that it was a superstitious practice he performed to bring good luck to the team.
