Some useful microbes are as follows:
i.) Lactobacilli : Lactobacilli are useful microbes that convert milk into yoghurt. They convert lactose, the sugar in milk, into lactic acid. This process is called fermentation.
Lactobacilli are also used to produce milkproducts, cider, cocoa, pickles, wine, probiotics etc.
ii.) Rhizobium Bacteria :: Rhizobium Bacteria present in the root nodules of leguminous plants produce nitrogenous Compound from atmospheric Nitrogen.
They supply nitrates, nitrites and amino acids to the plants and in exchange get energy in the form of carbohydrates from it.Such a mutually beneficial relationship is called symbiosis.
iii.) Yeast :: Yeast also convert carbohydrates into alcohol and carbon dioxide. This is called fermentation.Yeast is used to produce bread as it makes makes bread soft ,spongy and fluffy.
Antibiotics are carbon Compounds obtained from some bacteria and fungi for destroying or preventing the growth of harmful micro-organisms.Some antibiotics are abroad spectrum while some are narrow spectrum.
The antibiotic Penicillin was discovered by Alexander Fleming from the fungi Penicillin.....
Thanks..
