Answer:

In the chapter a question of trust, Horace danby is shown to a respected member of the society with a penchant for good and rare quality books. TO get the money for these books he used to rob rich people once a year to last him for 12 months or so. Similarly when he planned the robbery at shotover grange, he felt that it would turn out successful, however it did not. Due to the attacks of hay fever from the arrangement of flowers in the hall in the grange, he sneezed quite loudly, twice. This alerted the lady in red who comes down and tricks Horace into opening the safe without his gloves, to rob the jewels herself. She asks him to trust her and assures him that she wouldn't complain to the police. The lady in red pretended to be the lady of the house. This shows us her lack of loyalty and trustworthiness. She couldn't be trusted, but horace, desperate to get away from the police and the house, trusted her like a blind fool. This blind trust in the lady led to his arrest and his stay in prison.
