President of India and british king are both the head of the state of their respective country.

British king is symbol of aristocracy, while the president of India is a symbol of republic state, because he became president by elections.

British king is not elected. There is a constitutionial monarchy in Britain. That means, the British king or queen is the head of the state, but the power of taking any decision resides with an elected parliament.

In order to spot the difference between the two, one has to be clear that the State of India is a Democratic nation where is the State of Britain is ruled under constitutional monarchy.

Thus, in India, the president of the nation is elected democratically by voting whereas the the pre-existing monarchy abides by the constituition, that is, the power of the decision-maing still leas with the parliament event though the king or queen is the head of the state.

The president of India is the symbol that of the Republic state of India whereas the British King is the symbol of aristocracy.
