Current can be formed by moving a magnet closer to the coil. the kind of current formed here is referred to as an induced current....

The different ways to induce current in a coil are as follows: (1 ) moving a magnet towards a Coil sets up a current in the coil circuit. (2) If a coil is moved rapidly between the two pole of a horse-shoe magnet, then and electric current is induced in the coil.
