George Washington was a truthful boy. He did not want to tell a lie. One day he went to the
garden. There was a small apple tree. He got an axe from his father. He wanted to test the sharpress
of the axe. So he cut the apple tree. His father noticed this. It shocked him. He wanted to know
who cut the tree. George did not hide anything. He replied, "Father, I have done it." The father
was glad because the son had spoken the truth.
