We celebrate our Independence day on 15th August in 2016 with a lot of joy and happiness in the air as well as in each of our eyes and hearts. It's our 71st Independence day since 1947. It is a great feeling to be a citizen of an Independent republic.
the seventy years there has been progress on many accounts. Now Indians are on the world map. However, there are other countries which have progressed far better than India in the last four decades. India has not been able to gain sufficient friendship from its neighbours. Indian economy is dependent badly on the world economy. Indian borders are not safe. India is still the country of poor, illiterate, dirty and disease prone in the eyes of the developed world. In the United Nations India has many supporters but India cannot get to any important position that has some power and responsibility. India has a lot of foreign debt, export-import gap and suffers from natural calamities every year. India lags behind many smaller countries in the fields of economy, business, tourism, sports etc. In the field of space, India has done good. India has shown tolerance, perhaps a little too much, to many disturbances from outside.
