It is a good rule never to reveal too much. This rule is good for every field. In the workplace it is good to keep your conversation within limits and tell only those things which should be told. There is a line beyond which you should not share your personal information with co workers. Never discuss health issues, relationship issues and family troubles. Do not reveal your pay, negative feelings about the job or colleagues and other opinions that may cause a controversy. The rule is applicable to friendships also. Revealing too much may sometimes create a bad impression.
