Precautions:
- Check all the optical and mechanical parts of the microscope before using it.
- Though it might seem sturdy, use the permanent slides with proper precautions.
- Place the arm of the microscope towards you and the flat platform (stage) which is used for holding the specimen directed away from you.
- Start Focusing the slide at low power.
- Use your microscope in a well-lit room as the focusing of the optical parts needs to be done at proper lighting. Though Direct light should not fall on the microscope.
- Never use wet or dirty slides on the stage.
- Take proper care of the lenses.
Procedure:
- Place the compound microscope in a well-lit room so that there is enough light to be received and reflected on the slide.
- Position the permanent slides one by one on the stage.
- Observe the structure of the animal tissue and draw diagrams.
