Answer:

When an acid reacts with a metal it produces a metal salt accompanied with release of Hydrogen gas

  •          Metal + Acid → Salt + Hydrogen

Example - Mg + 2HCl → MgCl2 + H2

When an acid react with metal carbonates and metal hydrogen carbonate it produces salt, water and carbon dioxide.

  • Metal Carbonate + Acid → Salt + Water + Carbon dioxide

Example - Na2CO3 + 2HCL → 2NaCl + H2O + CO2

  • Metal Hydrogen Carbonate + Acid → Salt + Water + Carbon dioxide

Example - HCl + NaHCO3 → NaCl + H2O + CO2

*Metal Hydrogen Carbonate is also known as Metal Bicarbonate.

Ushnangshu: Hope it helps you
Ushnangshu: I think my answer is more appropriate than the above answer.
28mahekdugad58: your answer does not contain example of reaction
Ushnangshu: Now check it once again
28mahekdugad58: so now my answer and your answer are equally right
