INTRODUCTION
The rural visit, which was organized by our HOD provided an opportunity to the students to gain practical skills and be exposed to the rural areas. At the village, the students have to visit the different places in village such as school, hospital, Gram Panchayat Office etc.
ABOUT THE RURAL VISIT
Objectives of the Rural Visit :
Conduct survey on the Impacts of various factors in unorganized Retail sector
Preparation and submission of reports
Interaction and awareness program for the community
Conduct cultural programs for the primary students
SPECIAL ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED DURING THE VISIT:
Meeting the Gram Panchayat Team :
The entire class along with the concerned staff met the Gram Panchayat Team at Karla Village, to discuss the schedule for the rural visit. In the morning, a few of the group of students conducted a Focused Group Discussion with Clerk-Gram Panchayat about the village and its functioning.
Focused Group Discussion with Children :
The students visited two different schools to conduct Focused Group Discussions with the children who attend the school. The purpose of these FGD’s was to assess whether these schools were functioning adequately and whether the children were benefitting from the provided facilities.
School Activity :
A few students visited school to conduct activities such as Dance and play games with the primary students of that school. The students spread awareness on health and hygiene, sanitation, body posture, personality, manners, good touch and bad touch, and boon and ban of Internet between primary students and school teachers.
In the afternoon of the visit, involved a complete evaluation of the findings, in the form of statistical data and reports. All the groups seemed to have done a good job with the respective questionnaires that were given to each of them.
CONCLUSION
The camp was a huge learning experience for all the students. The rural camp was a very good occasion for the students to exercise their social work principles and skills and the students benefited immensely by the experience.
