Answer:

1. The cold weather season in India begins during mid November in Northern India and stays till February. December and January are the coldest months. The weather is normally marked by clear sky, low temperatures, low humidity and feeble variable winds.

2. As the name suggests, the dry season is characterised by dry weather (or drier than the wet season). It occurs between May and September in the southern hemisphere. During this time of the year, the sun is located over the northern hemisphere, so the southern hemisphere receives less heat and starts to cool down.

3. Loo is a strong hot and dry winds that blows over the western Indo-Gangetic plain of north India and Pakistan. It is especially strong in the months of May and June.

4. Most of the Desert plants are salt and drought tolerant. They store water in their stems, roots and leaves. Desert plants also have long roots that go deep in the soil to sap water and control erosion. The leaves and stems lower the surface velocity and checks soil erosion.
