It is the process by which the digested nutrients are taken to different parts of the body by the circulatory system (through blood) .the cells in the body then absorb these digested food molecules.

Absorption and assimilation is same term. When the digested Food is in soluble form. It gets diffused into the cytoplasm by passing through the membrane of food vacuole. Then it is utilized by cells and that process is called absorption.
