An analgesic, also knows as a pain killer, is a medicine that helps the patient to achieve analgesia, or relief from pain, without causing loss of consciousness . They act on the central, or the peripheral nervous system. Some analgesic drugs may have some side effect, so it is better to use them in small dozes. Some common analgesic drugs are Paracetamol, aspirin, morphine, methadone, etc.
