the friction force is a force that arises due to the chemical bond formed bw the surface so the the friction force is directly proptional to the normal force the propotionality constant is coefficient of friction

There are two types of friction static and kinetic if tha applied force is less than limiting friction then the magnitude of friction is equal to the magnitude of applied force if greater the friction is kinetic friction

From various experiments we are gettingcoeffiecient of kinitec friction is less than coefff. of static friction
