In plants coordination is done by means of some chemical compounds which are called phytohormones and duo to growth some phytohormones are auxins, gibberellins, ABA, Traumatic acid, ethylene, Cytokinin etc.

The movement in plants are of two types:-

(i)    One dependent on growth

(ii)   One independent of growth

(i)      Phototropism: - Movement towards light is called phototropism

-        It is character of shoot system

-        Due to this movement shoot moves towards light while root move away from light

(ii)         Geotropism:- Movement towards soil is called geotropism

-      It is character of root system

-      Due to this movement root moves towards earth gravity while shoot away or in its                    opposite direction

(iii)       Hydrotropism:- Movement of towards water is called hydrotropism

(iv)        Chemotropism:- Movement towards chemical is called chemotropism.

e.g Growth of pollen tubes towards ovules

Growth related movements of plants are too slower
