Explanation:

An electric motor is an electrical machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. Most electric motors operate through the interaction between the motor's magnetic field and electric current in a wire winding to generate force in the form of torque applied on the motor's shaft.

Answer:

Electric motor works on the principle of motor principle. Motor principle states that a conductor which can move freely and which is kept in a magnetic field experiences a force when current passes through it and it moves. Electric motor converts electric energy to mechanical energy. Electric motor consists of 2 magnetic poles, Armature, graphite brushes and split rings. Armature is the metallic coil wound round a soft iron core so that it is free to rotate. Split ring commutator helps to change the direction of the current through the coil after every half rotation.
