Urbanization as a process began to be adopted in India in the post-independence years, with high quality changes taking place as industrial revolution, migration, job changes and movement of people from one part of the country to another.

There was also a growth of private sector and a major change in the employment sector as well.

In addition to that, there was also a change in the literacy level of the country.
