Merismatic tissue is a dividing tissue it will continuosly divide. There are three types of merismatic tissue .The growth of plant occurs only in a specific region.

1)Apical: present in the tips and roots and increase length

2)Intercalary:it is the base of the leave

3)lateral:it increases the girth of the stem and root
