Born on 7 June, 1871, Nawab Salimullah was the fourth Nawab of Dhaka and was the largest Muslim Zamindar in British Bengal and Assam. He was also one of the leading Muslim Politicians during British Raj.
He was a key patron of education for Eastern Bengal and one of the Founders of University of Dhaka and the prestigious Ahsanullah School of Engineering.
The Muslim League was founded at the official residence of Dhaka Nawab Family. He was a staunch supporter of the partition of Bengal and was a member of the East Bengal and Assam Legislative Council from 1906 to 1907.
He was founder President of Bengal Muslim League in 1907.
