It means controlling the selection,timing and amount of nutrient supple to the crop.Plants are also similar to other organisms.Like other organisms,plant also requires some inorganic organism/materiel to build up their structure and those inorganic material helps plants in maintaining their life process or metabolic process. Nutrients that are not effectively utilised by crops have the potential to leach into groundwater or enter nearby surface waters via overland runoff or subsurface agricultural drainage systems.And the inorganic material which is considered essential for survival of plant is known as nutrient.
