Oxysomes are the structures which are present on the surface of the folded Inner Membrane of the Mitochondria. They are also called f0-f1 particles or ATP synthase. They play the most important role in the formation of energy for the functioning of the cell.

Oxysomes or F1 particles or Elemantary particles are small rounded structures present in the inner mitochondrial space attached on the folding called cristae.

Oxysomes are the main functioning bodies inside mitochondria and play a major role in ATP synthesis during respiration.They are also considered as  a major unit in phosphorylation.
