Pipeline transport network is a new arrival on the transportation map of India in the past there were used to transport water two cities and industries now these are used for the transportation crude oil petroleum products and natural gas from oil and natural gas fails to refinery fertilizer factory and thermal power plant .solid skin also be transported through a pipeline when converted into slurry . the far inland location of the refineries like Mathura Panipat and gas based fertilizer plants could be thought of of living cost is our minimal rules are trans - shipment losses or delays .

There are three important networks of pipeline transportation in the country :-

⚫ from oil field in upper Assam to Kanpur Uttar Pradesh via Guwahati and Allahabad . it has a branches from Barauni to Haldia via rajbandh , Rajbandh to mourigram and Guwahati to Siliguri .

⚫ gas pipeline from hazira in Gujarat connect Jagdishpur in Uttar Pradesh Vijaipur in Madhya Pradesh it branches to Kota in Rajasthan etc .
