PURVANCHAL RANGE:

The Purvanchal Mountains, or Eastern Mountains, are a sub-mountain range of the Himalayas in northeast India. The Purvanchal Mountains cover the states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Nagaland, Meghalaya and Mizoram

Beyond the dihang gorge, the Himalayas band sharply to the south and spread along the Eastern Boundary of the India they are known as Purvanchal or the Eastern Hills and mountains. These Hills running through the North Eastern states are mostly composed of strong sandstones which are sedimentary rocks covered with dense forest the mostly done as parallel ranges and valleys the Purvanchal comprises the Patkai Hills, the naga Hills, Manipur Hills and the Mizo Hills
