The modern periodic law states that"Physical and Chemical properties of elements are periodic function of their atomic number ".Although it's being used it has some short coming like it don't have fixed place for Lanthanide and Actinide. It's comprises elements arranged in periods and groups. Where the elements in the group have same valancey electrons and increase in number of shells by one. And in period there is same number of shells and the valancey electrons increases by one.
