• Parathyroid hormone (abbreviated as PTH) is secreted by parathyoid gland.

● Functions of Parathyroid hormome -

1. controls level of Ca & PO4 in blood
2. reduces loss of Ca through urine
3. results in activation of vitamin D
4. increases Ca absorption through intestine
5. promotes bone remodeling
6. increases tubular reabsorption of inorganic PO4
