Write short note on types of warehouses.

Warehouses are mainly of five types;

namely

private warehouses,

public warehouses,

cooperative warehouses,

distribution centres

bonded storage.

The private warehouses are owned and managed by the different private manufacturing companies, wholesalers and suppliers. Public warehouses are owned by the government semi-government organisations.

Cooperative warehouses are used by various cooperative societies for storing their goods. Distribution centres store goods for a short time before distributing elsewhere.

Bonded storage is used for keeping imported products, the import duties of which are not yet paid.
