Answer:

• Threshing - The process of separating stalk from grains is called threshing. It can be done manually or with the help of machine.

• Winnowing - The process of separating chaff from grains with the help of air is called winnowing.

• Hand picking - It is one of the oldest methods of separation. It is suitable when unwanted substances are bigger in size and smaller in quantity.

• Sieving - It is the process of separating two particles of different sizes with the help of sieve.

• Sedimentation and decantation - The mixture is undisturbed for some time. The sidements settle down at the bottom. This process is known as sedimentation. The liquid is poured into another glass vessel without disturbing the sidements. This process is called decantation.

• Filtration - The process of separating solid and liquid by filtering is called filtration.

• Distillation - The process of separating two liquids which have different boiling points is called distillation.
