Heya !!
Here's the answer !!
✔ The mode of arrangement of sepals or petals in floral bud is known as Aestivation .
✔The main type of Aestivation are Valvate , Twisted , Imbricate and Vexillary
➡when sepals or petals in a whorl just touch one another at the margin without overlapping, it is said to be Valvate Aestivation.
Example : Calotrophis.....
➡If one margin of the appendage overlaps that of the next one and so on,it is said to be Twisted Aestivation .
Example : China Rose, Cotton....
➡ If the margins of the petals or sepals overlap one another but not in any particular direction it is said to be Imbricate Aestivation .
Example : Cassia , Gulmohur....
➡ There are five petals , the largest (Standard) petal overlaps the two Lateral petals (wings) of which inturn overlap the smallest anterior petals (keel) is said to be Vexillary or Papilionaceous Aestivation.
Example : Pea and bean ....
