Answer:

1. Pendulum is created by a weight, called a bob, is hung from a fixed point, called a pivot. So that it can swing freely, forth, and back.

2. This back and forth motion of a pendulum is called "oscillation.

3. By pulling the pendulum back and letting go, it will swing back and forth due to the pull of gravity and the tension along the string or wire that the weight is hung from. The movement continues as a result of inertia.

4. When the pendulum is displaced sideways from the equilibrium position, the pendulum experiences a restoring force due to gravity. This gravitational force accelerates the pendulum towards the equilibrium position.

5. One oscillation is completed by a pendulum when it starts from the extreme position 'A' and moves to the other extreme position 'B' and then returns to 'A'. The time to complete one oscillation is called the time period. The time period of oscillation remains constant.
