In 1859, Charles Robert Drwin gave the theory of Evolution which was called as " Theory of Natural Selection".

According to this, nature selects the fittest organism which can survive and reproduce in the changing envirionment and the weak organism gets eliminated from competiotion of getting resources for survival.

Hence, Natural Selection can be defined as the process of evolution of a species whereby characterstics which help individual organisms to survive and reproduce are passed on to their future generations, and those traits which do not help are not passed.
