Dear Student,
◆ Darwin's theory of natural selection -
- Natural selection is the process by which organisms that are better suited to their environment are selected in evolution.
- Charles Darwin published theory of evolution in his book named 'Origin of Species'.
- He coined term survival of the fittest and natural selection in this context.
- Survival of the fittest means during evolution, only fittest will survive and weak will be perished.
- Darwin explained survival of the fittest but not arrival of the fittest.
- Mechanisms of natural selection are - overproduction, differential production, struggle for survival and genetic variation.
- For example, black moths which camouflage better with dark barks survive.
Thanks dear. Hope this helps you...

Answer:
- Darwin’s theory of natural selection states that all the organisms have great capacity to reproduce.
- As a result population of organisms increases at high rate.
- All the organisms compete with each other for food and space.
- In this competition, only those organisms survive which modified according to the environmental conditions.
- The nature selects only those organisms which are fit to live and the remaining disappears.
- The selected organisms live and perform reproduction.
- They give rise to the new species with their own specific characters.
