IT can be split into three main areas:
- Hardware
- Software
- Soggy ware
Hardware is obvious. It's the stuff you can kick.
It could be networking equipment, workstations, servers or a thousand and one other things.
Software is a bit more difficult to define.
It could be the instructions burnt into the programmable chips on a piece of hardware; It could be a traditional piece of compiled code that runs on any item of hardware; It could a set of weightings on a virtual or physical neural network.
Soggy ware is a term I use for anything involving human interaction.
