Answer:

India has bicameral legislature, which means the legislative body is divided into two houses rajya Sabha and lok sabha. Rajya sabha is the council of states whereas lok sabha is the house of people. The president is the head of legislature and has full powers to summon and prorogue either house of parliament or dissolve lok sabha.

Those elected for either of the houses are referred to as members of parliament(MP).

Lok Sabha is the lower house and has 543 members. they are elected directly by the citizens of India. Every citizen above the age of 18 years has the right to vote while to be eligible for membership in lok sabha, the person must be 25 years or above, mentally sound , shouldn't be bankrupt and shouldn't be criminally convicted.

Rajya Sabha or upper house is a permanent body not subject to dissolution. each member us elected for a period of 6 years. it can have Max strength of 250 people. currently it has a strength of 245 people out-of which 233 are elected State and Union Territories and 12 are nominated. by the president. min age for a person to become a member kg rajya sabha is 30 years.
