ALLUVIAL SOIL

  • Alluvial soil is the soil that is formed by the alluvium deposits bought by the 3 Himalayan rivers that are Indus, Ganga and brahmaputra
  • Alluvial soil are rich in propotions of silt and clay. Alluvial soil is also rich in phosporic contents, potash and lime
  • Alluvial soil is found in the entire region of Northern plains and near. the eastern coastal plains.Alluvial soil is considered as the best soil

BLACK SOIL

  • Black soil is black in colour. Black soil is found in the region of deccan trap and Black soil is also fpund in the narrow strip of gujurat and Rajasthan
  • Black soil is best suited for the growth of cotton soil so it is reffered as Black cotton soil.
  • Black soil's speciality is that Black soil has high water retentive capacity.
  • Black soil is formed by weathering of Lava

LATERITE SOIL

  • Laterite soil is derived from a latin word meaning later meaning brick.
  • Laterite soil is formed by high temperature and high rainfall. This soil is formed under the region of high temperature and pressure so the microorganism present in the soil will die inturn decreasing the humus content.
  • Laterite soil is found in the regions of KARNATAKA, KERALA and hilly areas of ASSAM.
  • Laterite soil is best suitable for the growth of tea, coffee and cashew nut.

RED SOIL

  • red spil is actually red in colour and it is yellow in color when it is in hydrated form
  • Red soil is formed on crystalline igneous rocks. Red soil is red due to the soil is diffused with iron oxide.
  • Red soil is found in the regions of Karnataka, Tamil nadu, Andhra pradesh, Madhya pradesh and chattisgarh

Forest soil

  • Forest soil is soil found in some north eastern parts and it is also found in Jammu and kashmir.
  • Forest soil is not suitable for the growth of any soil as it ha svery less humus compared to other soils.
  • Forest soil is sandy in nature and Saline in nature.
