1 The Thar Desert, also known as the Great Indian Desert, is a large arid region in the northwestern part of the Indian subcontinent that covers an area of 200,000 km² and forms a natural boundary between India and Pakistan. It is the world's 17th largest desert, and the world's 9th largest subtropical desert.
2The Deccan Plateau is a large plateau in western and southern India. It rises to 100 metres in the north, and to more than 1,000 metres in the south, forming a raised triangle within the south-pointing triangle of the Indian coastline.
3The Lakshadweep Islands are in the Arabian Sea. Its area is 32 sq km. The administrative headquarters of Lakshadweep is at Kavaratti island. This group of islands is rich in terms of biodiversity.
The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are bigger in size and has number of islands. This group of islands can be divided into two groups. The Andaman is in the north and the Nicobar is in the south. These islands too have rich biodiversity.
