(i). The Indian Desert lies towards the western margins of the Aravalli Hills. It is a sandy plain. It is considered as the hottest region in the country. It has high range of temperature as days are hot and nights are cold. While the temperature may reach up to 500C during summers, the temperature may drop down to 00C during winters. The region receives scanty rainfall which is usually less than 250mm. Rainfall, generally, occurs in the months of July and August. Luni is the only notable river in the region. Barchans (crescent shaped sand dunes) largely cover the area.
( ii ) . The Central Highlands are wider in the west but narrower in the east. The eastward extensions of this plateau are locally known as the Bundelkhand and Baghelkhand. ... The northern central highlands of peninsular India include the Aravallis, the Malwa Plateau, and some parts of Vindhyan Range.
(iii) . The two island groups of India are the Lakshadweep Island in the Arabian Sea and the Andaman and NicobarIslands in the Bay of Bengal. ... The Lakshadweep islands are situated in the Arabian Sea to the west of Kerala Coast and all these are coral islands.
