Tyger of Mysore - Tipu Sultan ( 20 nov 1750 - 4 may 1799)
alo known as the tyger of Mysor. he was the ruler of mysore from 1782 to 1799. He was also a scholar , a soldier and a poet . Tipu was the eldest son of sultan Hyder Ali of Mysore and his wife Fatima - ur - Nisa . Tipu Sultan was born in a Muslim family .
Battle of Plassey - This battle was between nawab Siraj - u - daula and british army led by Robert Clive , it was fought on 23 june 1757 in Murshidabad . Later , the Nawab was killed . Mir jafar was instituted as the new Nawab of Bengal.
Doctrine of Lapse - It is one of the policies of British . Acording to this policy , if a king has no natural male heir then when the king dies the king dome taken by the British.
East India company - This was a British company formed by traders of Enland on 18 th . It was situated in Gujrat . It was a trading company, who bought cotton , silk and spices from India to England .
