The bushes rustled. What was in there? Lola cautiously edged nearer to the bush. She could see something white moving amongst the bushes. As she approached the bushes, a white figure leaped out. Lola gasped and fell back. It was a puppy.
The dog was injured. It had scratches near its hind legs and its nails were long and dirty. Lola brought it home and nursed the little one back to health.
The dog seemed to be only three years old. Was the dog lost ?
She decided take the dog under her care, at least until she found the owner of the dog. However,they clicked like peas in a pod and the two soon grew close to each other. Both enjoyed the other's company.
While she was on a walk, she saw a poster, looking for the dog she had brought home. Her spirits were dampened. She did not have the heart to give up the dog, she had grown too attached to the dog to give it up.
Her guilty conscience however, did not let her keep the dog. She reluctantly called the owner and they set up a time to meet each other. She was upset, however, she knew that the dog would be happier with its original owner.
