Ganesh Chaturthi is a popular festival in not just Maharashtra, as well as in other regions of India as well.
Advantages:
-There are a number of advantages associated with celebrating this Puja. People believe that Lord Ganesha has the power to save/prevent a person from all challenges and hard times and can bring good luck and happiness to him.
-People worship him for good times and a positive bliss. Hence this Puja is celebrated with grandeur.
Disadvantages:
-Often, people are not aware about the disadvantages associated with Ganesh Puja. There is a lot of air pollution caused due to bursting of crackers during celebration.
-Lot of smoke is emitted onto air that causes air pollution.
-Streets are often quite littered with colorful papers, fruit peels,etc.
-Lastly Ganga and other river bodies get polluted due to idol immersion and the river ghats look quite unclean.
