Answers
Answer:
Microscopically, in a Wright's stained peripheral blood smear, a normal lymphocyte has a large, dark-staining nucleus with little to no eosinophilic cytoplasm. In normal situations, the coarse, dense nucleus of a lymphocyte is approximately the size of a red blood cell (about 7 μm in diameter).
Some characteristic features of lymphocytes are as follows:-
1. In them very large nucleus is found.
2. It is found in amoeboid shaped.
3. Usually in the periphery layer cytoplasm is found.
4. Amount of cytoplasm will be less as compared to the other type of cells.
5. Primary function of the lymphocytes is to secrete antibodies.
6. They not only function as secretion of antibodies, they also help in transportation & production of the antibodies.
7. For the formation of plasma cells in the connective tissue these cells gets divided.
8. Clear cytoplasm is seen in them.
