Gravitational force :-
it is the long range force which arises due to interaction of the gravitational fields of bodies. It is responsible for the attraction between particles of various masses in universe.
♪ Characteristics of Gravitational force :
1) It is always attractive force.
2)It is a mass dependent force.
3)It is charge independent.
4)It obeys inverse square law.
5) It is a long range force and operates upto infinite distance.
6) It is a conservative force.
Electro-magnetic force :-
It is a long range force having moderate strength and♪ acts thought electric and magnetic fields.

1) It may be attractive or repulsive.
2)It obeys inverse square law.
3)It is mass independent force.
4)It is a long range force.
5)It is a conservative force.
6)It is a function of separation between two bodies and acts along the line of joining.

4. Electrostatic forces (between two protons) are 1036 times stronger than gravitational forces between them, for any fixed distance.
5. They operate over distance which are not very large.6. They are central forces.
7. They are also conservative forces.
8. The field particle of electromagnetic forces is photon which carries no charge and has zero rest mass.
