Narmada River facts :-

• The Narmada, also called the Rewa, it is in central India and the fifth longest river.

• Source of the Narmada is Narmada Kund, located at Amarkantak in Anuppur District, Madhya Pradesh.

• Narmada is the third longest river that flows entirely within India, after the Godavari, and the Krishna.

• People from Madhya Pradesh depends fully on Narmada River, they are considering narmada as Life Line of Madhya Pradesh.

• It is one of the major rivers in India that run from east to west, along with the Tapti River and the Mahi River.

• It flows the states of Madhya Pradesh (1,077 km ), and Maharashtra (74 km) and in Gujarat (161 km).

• Narmada tributaries occasionally cause floods in the valley between the ranges.

• The Indian teak trees along this narmada are much older as compared to the ones in the Himalayan Mountain Range.

• Narmada is one of the five holy rivers of India, the other four being Godavari River, Ganga River, Yamuna River and Kaveri River. Narmada River is considered to be Hindus important pilgrimage site. It is closely associated with Lord Shiva.
