Akbar was the son of emperor Humayun.In 1556 CE in an accidental fall from stairs Humayun died.At the age of 13 Albar became the proclaimed emperor.

Bairam Khan, Humayun's faithful and experienced general, became Akbar's regent and looked after the affairs of the government on his behalf.
