✴Anything that has mass and occupies space is called Matter .

✴Matter exists in 3 states. Solid, Liquid and Gas.

Liquid state of Matter.

Example- Water.

Characteristics of Liquids

✴Molecules are loosely packed

✴Intermolecular space is more than solids

✴Intermolecular force is less than gases

✴Can flow

✴Not hard

✴Has a fixed volume

✴Does not has a fixed shape

✴Compressible

✴When heated, change into their gaseous form

✴When cooled , change into their solid form

✴Take the shape of the container in which they are kept

Answer :-

•There are 5 states of matter that is Solid , liquid , gas , Bose-Eientien Condensate , Plasma.

⏩Matter around us can either be solid, liquid or gas, a stone is a solid, water is a liquid and air is. a gas these are the three States of matter.

\underline{Properties\: of \: liquids}:—

▶Liquds are denser than gases but lighter than solids.

▶Liquids shows wave nature of particle.

▶The intermolecular forces of attraction is stronger than the gases but lesser than the solids

▶ liquids the particle in the liquid are compactly packed than gases

▶ liquids do not have a fixed shape, They take the shape of the container in which they are kept.

▶liquids can not be cut.

▶ liquid flow easily.

▶Liquids are less compressible than gases but more compressible than solids.

▶Liquid shows turbulance.

#\underline{Examples }:—

•water is the most important liquid for us. It is used for many purposes like domestic & un-domestic.

•petrol and diesel are fuels that is liquid.

• shampoo and liquid soaps.
